The one who stole the chickens

I saw grandpa sneaking
Just his silhouette
He stole the chickens!
There's no mistake'n it

Pa thinks it was me,
But I'll clear my name
After all Lolo left
His special white cane!

Pa says it's not his
But I tell him, "No,
It's exactly like his,
Except for this hole."

I'll ask him myself
To confess to the crime!
So I go to Lolo's room
And boldly ask why

"Why steal the hens?
And just sneak away
I'm in trouble right now
Can't you behave?"

Lolo said, "It wasn't me
Must be my twin Zell,
Who always got me
In trouble as well."

Lolo told Pa,
Then it became quite clear,
That Lolo's twin brother,
The culprit, was here.

Me, Pa and Lo,
Came up with a plan,
To wait up at night,
To capture that man.

Later that night,
The trap was all set.
The springs were all wound,
And so was the net.

After a while,
We all went to sleep,
We'll be ready,
For that devious sneak.

Woosh!
The trap had been sprung!
We turned on the lights,
Happy we won.

But we gasped,
as we saw,
She had been caught --
It was Lola Haw!

"Get down from there"
We all worried said
"Be careful at night
You might just get dead."

So we let her down,
And she sneaked away.
Then we left confused
With nothing to say.
